DISCOVERING NEW ADVENTURES THROUGH
Agenda:
Please turn in all missing work before we leave for Christmas break! Lots of missing assignments have been turned in and I am working to grade them and put them in Skyward as soon as possible. I appreciate your patience in the meantime. Bonus Assignment This assignment can replace any grade that was missed, including grades that cannot be made up. This is not required, but will probably help anyone studying for the Final Exam Create a game to help review for the Final Exam using the study guide posted previously and today's Jeopardy game as a guide. This must be brought to class on Monday. I will not be accepting late projects. Link to Jeopardy Game: https://jeopardylabs.com/play/fall-final-review-78 Have a wonderful weekend, see you Monday. Agenda:
Okay, I have been pretty bad about posting this week. Here are the last few days in a nutshell:
Tuesday, December 3:
Wednesday, December 4:
Today, December 5:
Behavior has been a growing problem in class and today all classes were under "lockdown" meaning that students were expected to follow clasroom procedures with a zero-tolerance policy. Most students performed much better today. The classroom was much quieter and I was able to answer many more individual questions. I am being strict because I have high expectations for my students, and today they showed me that they can meet those standards. I am hoping that eventually we can reach the same level of academic achievement with more interactive lessons. Due tomorrow: Informational Literary Analysis, Essay about goals, planner check QUIZ TOMORROW OVER GREEK AND LATIN ROOTS!!! Agenda:
Important AnnouncementsWe are beginning to study Greek and Latin roots of words instead of weekly vocabulary. There will still be a test on these on Friday the same as the vocabulary quizzes. Understanding these word roots is vital to figuring out unknown vocabulary. We took grammar notes today and will be following the C.O.P.S. strategy in preparation for revising our How-To books. C.O.P.S. stands for Capitalization, Organization, Punctuation, and Spelling. Students wrote down rules for capitalization and properties of proper nouns. These notes can be quizzed at any time and must be maintained in either a reading notebook or binder. The first semester Final Exam is coming up soon! The test date will be Tuesday, December 17. We will be reviewing everything in class with a major review on the Friday and Monday before. The exam is comprehensive of this semester, but will emphasize skills from this quarter.
